Following the indwelling desire to acquire deeper insights into the dynamics and science of sustainability, I have placed my preference on Brock University after considering the University’s enormous research contributions to academic debates and the quality of its faculty. I am well convinced that my expectations of becoming a well-groomed sustainability expert after encountering Brock University will not be cut short. But regardless, am also aware of the overwhelming cost of acquiring a post graduate degree at Brock, which is obviously outside the reach of my financial capabilities. These are the basic attributes of graduate school success and I will be so privileged to achieve these following the award of the scholarship. Secondly, a scholarship will help lessen the impact of tuition cost while availing me the opportunity to have more time to focus on my studies which is my first responsibility as post-graduate student. Studies has shown that work can take up to 15 hours per week and thus, becomes an impediment to academic success. Obviously, the stress of working makes it difficult to graduate on time, or even graduate with the high grades I have the potentials to achieve. However, with a scholarship opportunity which is a disincentive to working, volunteering my spare time to community service becomes unavoidable for me. Also, being aware of my financial background, a scholarship opportunity will grant me the leverage to compete favourably with my peers and colleagues as well as boost my morale and confidence in my ability to work towards a better future. The confidence that it offers and the fact that I can compete favourably; not being bothered about where the next meal will come from nor how to cater for the next expense is a massive plus to the success of my graduate program, and I wouldn’t take such opportunity for
