This group of songs are folk songs and tales. Big Rock Candy Mountain is bluegrass folk song about a hobo's idea of paradise. Wikipedia states "McClintock claimed to have written the song in 1895, based on tales from his youth hoboing through the United States". This song talks about "cigarette trees" and other things hobos dream about. My favorite verse is "our birthday comes around once a week and it’s Christmas every day". The Three Little Pigs Silly Symphony use music to tell a story or pass along a lesson. The tone of these songs are upbeat and catchy but are still about the bad thing that can happen. The three little pigs teach you that hard work and determination pay off. The first two little pigs would rather play than work and were saved by the third little pig who put hard work before play and built a house that could withstand the big bad wolf.
