As a result of the ruling of Brown v. the Board of Education followed the well-deserved and overdue justice for the Civil Rights Movement. This case was vital to the Civil Rights Movement because it was the first case in which the prosecution had won and earned racial equality in public schooling (Bollinger, 1). Not only did the case improve the 50’s, in which it was tried, but also had a long lasting impact on America today. Brown v. the Board of Education desegregated public education in the 1950’s creating a domino effect of improvements in the Civil Rights Movement. Previous to Brown v. the Board of Education, despite the Civil Rights Movement efforts, quality schooling for all races was not legally required. Beginning in the 1880’s, the Jim Crow Laws were a set of established rules enabling segregation in the majority of public facilities. A huge step for integration, Brown began a tidal wave of Civil Rights achievements. Following Brown, Ruby Bridges became the first African American student to enter an all white school.
