The book Daniel’s Story describes events that happened during the Holocaust through a fictional character, Daniel. The way the Nazis treated the Jewish people was awful and cruel. Many of these actions made me sick to my stomach, knowing that this actually happened. From his uncle’s ashes being sent in the mail, people beating up the Jews, a SS officer shooting a young boy, and the living conditions of the Jews in the ghetto, these are some of the events that were horrifying.
After warnings about the bad intentions that Nazis in Germany had against Jewish the family of Wiesel and other Jewish in the city of Sighet decided to remain in the city. He had grown a weird kind of relationship with Bruno and they had started to talk about the camp. Bruno really didn’t know what was going on and neither did Shmuel. This had caused Bruno to want to go into the camp and look with Shmuel. Towards the end of the movie Bruno had found out that he is moving soon. Which made him want to go into the camp even sooner.
Bruno didn’t understand why he was in there. Shmuel was the boy and it killed Bruno that he couldn’t be by him. He just wanted to be by him. Bruno was very crushed until he found his way under the fence.

During his work, he was informed that the residents, along with the manager, were Jews in hiding. Then soon after, the Jewish adults were being removed from society, Bruno decided to meet with Albert Van Den Berg, who was connected and a part of an organization who moved Jewish children into more safe hiding spots. This was the start to reach more meaningful, real accomplishments in Bruno’s life. He rode his bike place to place, working alone to protect his peers, in search of hiding places for Jews. along with the help of his new colleague, Albert.
The story continued to Birkenau, a death camp in the town of Auschwitz where the people of the town are separated into two lines: who can work, and who will die. Losing the rest of his family, he is thankful to keep on going with his father. Eventually, after living through some awful times in Birkenau with gruesome work, he is eventually moved to another camp named Auschwitz. Here he does less grueling work and is seemingly satisfied with his situation. Luckily, he is still with his father.
[Ch.19 p.208] At this point in the novel, Bruno has crossed over to the other side. For the first time he sees what really goes on in the camp, and he quickly becomes very uncomfortable. From Bruno’s point of view we are able to understand some of things that occur inside the camp, for example; Nazis walking around with
I have chosen two moments to base my creative pieces on. The first moment, I have chosen is when Bruno assumes the prisoners of the concentration camp are farmers, in which his father responds by saying “They’re not people at all”. I chose to represent this by presenting the views on how Bruno and his father looked at the concentration camp. On the left hand side of sketch up, shows Bruno’s view of the concentration camp; as he believes it is a farm with ordinary people. But, beside that is the view of Bruno’s father, with the actual concentration camp and inside there is germs, to symbolize that Bruno’s father saw the Jews as pest that should be killed.
First is his family. At the beginning of the book he wouldn’t ever leave his family. Before being taken away to Auschwitz he had the chance to get away, though his father had other ideas. “If you wish, go there. I shall stay here with your mother and the little one…”
Over the course of World War Two, the Nazis murdered over six million Jews. Killing factories known as concentration camps exterminated Jews and other enemies of the Nazis throughout Europe. Hitler used these camps to eliminate anybody who threatened the ‘perfect Aryan race’ that he wished to create. The deadliest camp of all was known as Auschwitz, and it is where a fifteen year old Elie Wiesel is brought in 1944. He remained in concentration camps until their liberation in 1945.
Throughout the novel, Eliezer, the main character, and his father are sent to one concentration camp to another, facing new difficulties and people everyday. From the beginning of the journey when the Jews found out about what was happening and the Hitler’s intentions, their lives had drastically changed. The Jews, victims of the
This is a confusing, powerful story set during World War II where wealthy ignorant boy meets an “out-with” Jew. the film stays true to the book through the plot where Bruno dies, And deviates through the mother 's character and the resolution. Since Bruno died of the same reason in both the film version and the book, it shows how the film stayed true to the book. Bruno had left to go to the Concentration Camp with Shmuel thinking they would just go find Shmuel’s father and Say Goodbye.
Even if you don't acknowledge it, we all have a family. Some of us may have delight and others may loathe our family. Family can be blood and some by no means actually related. Either way this is for you, the real question is how far would you go for them? Would you sacrifice yourself for them?
