Comparing Brutus And Cassius In Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

This essay is written about the differences of Brutus and Cassius in the play Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was written by William Shakespeare. It has a lot of characters in it that will switch up on people that they are close to. Brutus and Cassius have many similarities in this play. A couple of them are that they both want to get rid of Caesar, they are both respected greatly, and they had a role in Caesar’s death. I will be comparing and contrasting Brutus and Cassius. Like I said they both have some similarities but they also both have their differences. Brutus is more of a do it on his own person and do it for the good of something, and Cassius is a person who wants everyone to do something of the same kind and if you don’t do it then he will most likely hold a grudge against them. To me Brutus is more of the respected person and he is a honorable guy. I will first talk about how the two characters Brutus and Cassius make decisions. Are they doing it for Rome or doing it for themselves. Brutus basically loves Rome and he wants the best for it. Before Brutus dies he yells out to Cassius, “I kill’d thee with half so good of a will!” Meaning that Brutus is okay with dying because he knows that he had a good life and people will still respect him even after his death. Cassius is ambitious because when Cassius tells Brutus “we petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable.” He is saying that because he wants to be like Caesar was and he is still jealous of him even though he is dead. He knows the people still respect Caesar even though he is still dead so he tries to spill out all of Caesar’s bad things he did while he was alive. Unfortunately he doesn’t get anywhere and the people end up hating him and not liking him even
