Buddy Hield is the best player in college basketball and it isn 't even close. Buddy 's shot was wetter than a scuba diver as Oklahoma knocked off LSU in a thriller that came down to the last seconds. He 's the best player on the best team in America -- you 're more than welcome to fight me IRL if you disagree. Ben Simmons will probably be the first pick in the 2016 NBA draft, he might win The Wooden Award, he may win the Naismith player of the year, he 'll definitely be winning life when he 's making millions next year, but Buddy Hield is still the better college player. Buddy dropped 32 points in the win over LSU tonight but there 's something even more impressive than the points he scored tonight -- it 's the incredible season he is …show more content…

Somebody somewhere in Louisiana is shouting, "Ben Simmons is the best player in CBB! You don 't know shit!" (insert Stanford yelling guy meme here) and while I probably "don 't know shit" after reading this I think your mind may change. Simmons ' numbers are great, he 's averaging 19.8 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists -- that 's great, but Ben Simmons is no Buddy Hield. Some people could make an argument that Denzel Valentine is better than both Hield and Simmons -- I disagree. Valentine has had a great all around season averaging 18.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists but he isn 't shooting nearly as well as Hield. Valentine is shooting 46% from the field, 42% from 3, and 82% from the charity stripe -- those are amazing numbers but not compared to Hield. The 6 '4" Oklahoma SG is shooting 53% from the field, 52% from beyond the arc, and 90% from the line. Those numbers would make Stevie Wonder look twice. Another very important thing that makes the case that Hield is the better College Player is the fact that Oklahoma is 18-2 and ranked number 1 in the nation. Michigan State is 18-4 and ranked 11th, LSU is 13-8 and isn 't ranked. Lon Kruger is without a doubt a better coach than Johnny Jones but Tom Izzo is head and shoulders above both coaches.
