Friends can make a person happy, sad, or whatever’s in between. Your friends are your buddies, the same people you would do anything with. In this rhetorical piece, we will explore and expose, Budweiser’s ways in manipulating an adorable animal scenario, to their watchers, beer and non-beer drinker, to overall, make the watchers relate the scene to themselves. Budweiser has used their background in beer, and the term buds, to bring together the credibility to use this term in the scenario as they did. In the terms of Ethos, one thing they could have done would be to add way more of it into the commercial, by hinting or mentioning right off the back that it is their commercial. The piece fully lacks of Ethos, only exhibiting the fact that the beer term for buds, were used as the same as the friend term for buds, as well as the hat the farmer wore. In the terms of Logos, due to not having any details or facts about their products, Budweiser could have added one or more types of facts about the beer and how good it is. In the terms of Pathos, Budweiser did a wonderful job in making their audience have a rise and fall in emotions, ending in delight, what they could have done, would be to start off with sad emotions, and work their way up to the exultant ending, which could have brought the watcher slightly closer to their product, then they are after watching the commercial as is. On to the terms of the five Fowles appeals, Budweiser did a good job in making the watcher want them, but Budweiser could have made watchers want more than those five, they could have added the needs to feel safe, by expressing a safe outcome from drinking their product, or the need for sex, by making the farmer and lady have a relationship.
