Horses will react by rearing up or running away from the distraction. The rider can be thrown from the horse and receive serious injuries. There is also substantial ways to protect the horse. The saddle pad protects the horse from the saddle. It keeps the saddle from putting too much pressure on the horse’s back. For events that require a horse to move fast the rider will put boots around the bottom parts of their horses legs to keep the horses muscles tight so they do not pull anything or kick themselves in their legs when they are moving.
