Being a leader means something different to everyone. Different aspects are valued by different people, but to me being a leader means to have good qualities such as bravery, dependability and loyalty. Joining the Bulldog Marching Band has improved my leadership skills in that I now know how to show the qualities of a good leader. Leadership skills are wanted and in many settings, a necessary skill to becoming successful in a career and/or hobbies. I always believed that I had strong leadership skills, until I was shown all that I hadn’t yet learned. I became a captain of colorguard my senior year meaning that in addition to the regular rehearsals, I now had to attend leadership meetings with the other band members like me who held power
