The Bandar-log or the Monkey-people in Rudyard Kipling’s book The Jungle Books can be described as bullies. The Bandar-log act like some of the bullies we have today in the real world.
The Bandar-log call the Jungle-people many names. The Bandar-log have called Kaa The Rock Snake a “footless, yellow earthworm,”(Kipling,7) Bullies today also call people names. Hurtful names. The Bandar-log are not honest. “They lie. They have always lied.” (Kipling,3) the Bandar-log take things that are not their own. The Bandar-log took Mowgli away from Bagheera and Baloo. “They have no speech of their own, but use the stolen words they overhear when they listen and peep…”(p.g. 3) Some bullies also take things that are not their own either.
“They boast and chatter and pretend that they are great people…”(Kipling, 3) The Bandar-log pick on the wounded or sick animals. They throw nuts and branches at them to be noticed in the jungle. The Bandar-log sometimes just start fights out of nowhere with other monkeys and leave the dead monkeys in plain sight where everyone one in the jungle can see. Some bullies in the world only bully for attention, to be noticed. “...they were so pleased when Mowgli came to play with them, and how they heard how angry Baloo was.”(Kipling,4) From this quote I can tell the Bandar-log like to see the pain and displeasure of others. The Bandar-log just bully or mess around with the jungle people

The Bandar-log throw nuts and sticks at any animal just to be noticed in the jungle. Bullies pick on people weaker than them. Some bullies do just bully to be noticed and just for the fun of it.
