Bullying Bullying has a long history to it. It had been going on for years and years now. But it’s not okay at all. It hurts people a lot. That’s why some people who get bullied self-harm, or worse, kill themselves. Bullying is the unwanted aggressive behavior for another person onto someone who might be weaker or different from them. There are 4 main types of bullying that are common. There is Physical bullying, Verbal bulling, social bullying, and Cyberbullying. Physical bullying involves hitting, pushing, shoving, tripping others, and other kinds of force. Verbal bullying involves name-calling, rude/hurtful comments, and teasing. Not only is physical bullying about hitting and punching, but it can also cross over into sexual harassment. It most often occurs at school through someone’s peers. Middle school age is when bullying is most common. The reason why it is most common in middle school aged children is because this is an age where kids try to fit in more with their peers. Physical bullying is a lot more likely to happen in males, although females can also be victims of physical bullying. Verbal bullying is very hurtful. Name-calling and teasing someone is not okay. You can really hurt someone’s emotional feelings. Verbal bullying is when you name-call or tease someone who is weaker or less fortunate than you. You’re teasing them because of what they don’t have. It’s not okay to name-call. Name-calling is something that really hurts an individual because of what you say. Some people who get verbally bullied can have depression, anxiety, feel isolated, suicidal and can self-harm. Social bullying is also very serious. Social bullying can hurt someone’s reputation, as well as someone’s relationship. It can really make someone feel bad, especially when you’re trying to ruin their relationship or reputation.
