Burning In Lord Of The Flies Research Paper

The burning of trees in forests can have a large, widespread effect on the world. It can either be a fantastic decision and help the environment or a horrific choice. Regarding the topic of burning forests, in the novel Lord of the Flies, a large group of young, British boys crash landed on a tropical island. The boys surroundings were rural and they basically had nothing to work with except each other and their minds put together. Soon the boys will lose focus on what their main task was; To make it out alive, to function as well as they were before they crashed. Once alliances and enemies were made, it was downhill from there. Towards the end of the story, the destruction of the island was far beyond belief. The island was up in raging hot flames. Ralph, fighting for his safety, running from his “friends” made it out alive.

Since the boys in Lord of the Flies were trapped on the island because of a plane crash, they were forced to survive. Their survival is mainly the moral and focus of the story. In chapter two of the novel, the boys try to start a fire and that fire burned down the mountaintop, habitats, homes of the animals that live there. By the end the mountaintop burning, the boys did not realize that one of their friend was in the fire and that friend was one of the ‘littluns’. In chapter twelve of the novel, the remainder of the boys that are not dead are in tribes. Someone in the tribe sees Ralph talking to Samneric about winning back their and the tribe’s loyalty. The person in the tribe decided that Samneric should be punished by rolling inflamed boulders. The inflamed rolling boulders burn over half of the island’s environment.
