I am an adult undergraduate whom would love the opportunity to complete a degree program at Colorado Christian University. I was raised in a large Catholic family with two uneducated parents who did not know how to lead their children in the way of education nor could they afford to put seven kids through school. They gave us religious values in which I am very grateful. As a young adult I had learned the value of education and tried to pursue a college education but was unable to complete this task. , In 1994, I was married and had two children. I was blessed with 21 years of a very happy marriage. We persevered through life’s ups and downs and with the 2006 housing market crash, things took a turn for my husband and his dreams of being a home builder. Eighteen months ago I became a widow and single parent to two teen-aged children. I want to be the best role model and example for my children that I can be in striving forward in God’s purpose for my families’ new normal. I started an education in 1986 and never finished due to financial hardship. I believe it is essential that I increase my job skill knowledge and be the best parent that I can in utilizing my God given talents. Completing my education at CCU would be a tremendous milestone in both my personal and professional development. It would increase my self-confidence and give me the job skills that I need to be proficient in the job market. I would only return to school at a Christ based University because my relationship with God comes first in all that I set out to achieve. I know that at CCU my connection to God and his purpose for my life is recognized and nurtured. My current work assignment is a full-time job as a Paraprofessional at Pine Creek High School. I help to integrate the special needs students into the general education
