This paper will show the correlation between the Council on Social Work Education, Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards of page one and how my field placement agency is guided by CSWE policy and standards. It will also give insight to how the agency is motivated by the underpinnings of the Master of Social Work at Delaware State University. It will identify the agency’s strengths and limitation of how well Kent Sussex Community Services (KSCS) adheres to the profession’s purpose. Finally, it will address the opportunities KSCS provides to build on strengths and address identified limitations.

KSCS provides person centered services designed to address a wide array of needs. One of the services included is a HIV/AIDS program which provides case management services through the Diamond State Health Plan-Plus and Ryan White Care Act to individuals living in Kent and Sussex Counties. The HIV/AIDS program provides support services such as transportation, case management, and outreach prevention. In addition, FREE and confidential HIV counseling and testing is offered through our intervention and prevention program.
The second program is Drug Court Diversion provides an array of education, counseling and urine monitoring services to individuals diverted from the criminal justice system by Superior Court and the Court of Common Pleas drug court judges. These clients are given a second chance to get their lives back on track without having a criminal record if they complete that

KSCS has trained social workers that reaffirms the richness, productivity and vigor of the lives of African Americans, Africans, and people of color and marginalized and oppressed people in other parts of the world and emphasizes the delineation of ways in which the strengths of African Americans can be used to respond to oppressive and discriminatory systems. Additionally, the Black Perspective calls for sensitivity to the experiences of all oppressed and underserved groups and embraces an international dimension with special emphasis on Africa and Caribbean.
