One character Stewart used to reveal the actions of human beings was Cadal. Cadal is the loyal and trustworthy friend type of person. Cadal is Merlin’s Ultimate friend that would never betray him even if his action meant death for him, like when he tried to stop Jordan from reaching Merlin, but instead killed himself. He is always by Merlin’s side, unless have been asked not to do so. Even though he was Merlin’s slave, Merlin never treat him like one, because to Merlin, Cadal was his ultimate companion. He would often times question Merlin’s action, and give advice for a better outcome, Just like a mentor. Although he would often times try to stop Merlin from doing dangerous actions, he would always, in the end, follow Merlin. His character is the perfect example represents the one best friend that would help you out in hard times, take the blame for you, give you advice, and do anything with you. But the one thing he will not do is betray you. This shows that a person will do anything for you, if you will do the same for him. Another Character Stewart uses to uncover the intentions in human being is Uther. Uther symbolizes the pride and the lust in human beings. Upon meeting Arthur, even though Galapas doesn't know Arthur at all, except the fact that he is of royalty, he treats Merlin as nicely as he he’d known merlin for years. He agreed to be Merlin’s tutor even if Merlin had nothing to give back to him. He is selfless in a sense that he taught Merlin all the secrets and knowledge he knows.
