I am completely overcome by the night sky. On a good night, when one sees the Milky Way, they’re actually looking out into our cosmic backyard. While some might see planets, I see neighbors. The scene speaks to me, beckoning us to explore its vast unknowns. It is certainly full of wonderful surprises, surprises that would completely transform our understanding of the universe and our humankind’s role within it. I know we must go and I have made it my life and career goals to push our humankind into the heavens, further than ever before.

Such a technology has far-reaching implications that are deeply exciting to me personally. The opportunity to design a Lunarport with some of the top space minds in the world would be both a huge boost and a highlight of my career.
I offer a set of skills and particularly relevant experiences that make me an ideal candidate for the Space Challenge. I’m effective working in teams with proven success in past projects and competitions. While interning at United Launch Alliance (ULA), I led structural analysis and testing amongst a group of 150+ interns to successfully build and launch a 50-foot tall recreational rocket, the largest in the world. In the 2015 AIAA Design-Build-Fly competition, I designed and tested ball-dropping mechanisms with a team of undergraduates to design and construct an aircraft which placed third internationally.
