The book Call of the Wild is about a normal dog who is snatched out of the luxurious world he lived in and was put in the wild. With this change he had to adapt to the environment, new laws and new masters. Through this time, he does things as good as an angel and things as bad as a devil. This leads to a question if Buck Is good or evil. Though he is part of both I think he is more good than evil. Three reasons that I think Buck is more good than evil are that he loyal to his masters whether or not they treat him well, he is determined to do what he tries to do, and he is helpful whenever he can be. I would take A LOT of determination to pull a sled well over 5 times your weight over deep snow. Another hard part about this is breaking out the rudders which were frozen solid. All of this work for a master who needs him. If that is not determination then what is? Would you do something to this extreme for a friend in need. Another episode he shows determination is when he goes on a 4 day chase to kill a huge bull moose. The moose had a 7 foot rack and stood well over 6 feet tall. The moose had an arrow in its hide. This showing his encounter with the Yeehat Indians. Buck chased this bull moose for 4 days, never giving up. He would chase the bull out of the pack and injure it. He would also keep the bull from drinking and eating. At the end of the 4 days, buck had the bull finished.
