Cam Newton Cam Newton is a football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League. He attended The University of Florida, Blinn College, and Auburn University for college. He has won many awards so far in his career, as a passer and a runner. He won the Heisman Trophy in college at Auburn and also won a National Championship while in college. He has broken four NFL rookie records, and has also broken 44 NFL player records. Cam Newton has had an amazing football career, but he has had to face multiple problems throughout his life. His perseverance to solve those problems and become an amazing football player is why many people not only think of him as a great player, but also a great person. Cameron Jerrell Newton was born on May 11th, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia. While in his sophomore season, he was arrested for stealing a laptop from another Florida student. Newton was then indefinitely suspended from the football team. Later that season, Newton decided that he would transfer to another college. Cam Newton made the decision to transfer to Blinn College, in Brenham, Texas. In his only season at Blinn College, Newton led them to the NJCAA National Championship. In that season, he passed for 2,388 yards and scored 22 touchdowns, rushed for 655 yards and scored 16 touchdowns.
