In the land of King Arthur, it was day like no other. The sun shone so radiantly upon the walls of Camelot’s castle that the members of Arthur’s court had to cover themselves with elaborately embroidered umbrellas. The sun illuminated all the greens and pinks and reds of the gardens and filled the old castle with brilliant light. It bounced atop the polished marble floors and danced along the gilded walls. Guinevere, Camelot’s Queen, pulled back her curtains and basked in the light as it shone upon her golden crown and her golden hair. Radiant and glowing in the sun’s embrace, she looked as if she were painted by a great artist.
Guinevere was famous for her fairness, as she had more Instagram followers than any other. She wore only the finest dresses, embroidered by the most expensive tailors, and carried with her silver plated selfie stick anywhere she went. The people of Camelot awaited her selfies with great anticipation, and she never failed to share them. Yet, as of late, she found herself with fewer admirers, fewer likes. Only Lancelot seemed to comment poems, and only a few thousand members of the kingdom liked her selfies. Distraught, Guinevere began to fear the worst. Had she a blemish upon her face, a silver strand among her golden hair, or the beginnings of a wrinkle? That left her uncertain. Guinevere realized what the real problem with her selfies was: Camelot. Not her, but her scenery. She was bored of Camelot’s white walls and bright summer days, and Arthur would not even allow her to have the castle painted mauve in defense of his “ancestral home”. In order to take better selfies, Guinevere would have to go somewhere new, or try something new. So she set out, in her favorite carriage, on a quest to take selfies in different places, and to redeem her Instagram
