Camera Person Reflection Paper After watching the documentary “Cameraperson” by Kirsten Johnson, the three moments that struck me the most are as follows: (1) Visiting post-war Bosnia. The images of how the people who decided to return to their homes after the war, demonstrates to me that all humans have within them the will to live on. This idea is best displayed in the scene where the woman is making bread and smoking a cigarette that she rolled herself. This shows me how every generation of the people who lived there and survived can overcome the psychological effects of losing many loved ones in the name of ethnic cleansing. (2) The daily routine of a Nigerian midwife. This scene stood out to me because my conventions of a maternity ward is quite different from what I have seen and experienced. I have children, and was fortunate to be present when they were born. I am used to seeing maternity wards in hospitals that are very clean and shut out from public access. The scenes first struck me as grotesque until we got to hear the midwife talk about the daily routine. The scene seemed chaotic at first. I didn’t know whether this was a war-ravaged country and the footage was of a hospital ward treating children from injuries. This scene was interesting to me because of the style of dance that the men are performing while music is being played. This The dance moves seemed provocative and is reminiscent of the reggae scene. I do not have enough knowledge about the people who are portrayed. I am curious to find out if the dance moves and music are indigenous, or are they mimicking a music style that exist
