Camp Bow Wow is a luxury boarding facility for dogs and an example of a successful business franchise model with over two hundred locations. Entrepreneur, Heidi Ganahi tried several other businesses unsuccessfully before opening Camp Bow Wow in 2000 and credits her past failures to her current success. Interestingly, Heidi was told her original business model idea of a daycare for dogs was not sound and she was detoured her from pursuing this business; wanting to run her own business, she explored several other businesses. However, she realized her heart was not in it and when they failed, she came back to her true passion and original business model of dog boarding. When Heidi first opened Camp Bow Wow it was not her intent to franchise. However, the success of her first business led to the launch of one of many franchises in beginning in 2003.
