In 2002, Canada followed Homeland Security of United States and came up with an immigration plan. The bill was called “Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.” The focus of the bill was to stop people entering Canada and seeking asylum who will endanger the safety of the Canadians. The bill introduced strict law for people who will try to put the life of Canadians at risk. The law allowed immigration to remove people from the country who may pose a threat to the country.

Also, increase in immigration will not only increase the chance of separation because of different culture, religions and beliefs, it will also bring about discrimination. Separation is formed when immigrants refuse to speak in the commonly accepted language and resist becoming part of Canadian culture by rejecting to recognize the same holidays and demanding recognition of their own culture.

One of the major benefits that migration has on Canada is how much it benefits the economy, the population, and it’s valuable members to the workforce. These three reasons are beneficial to Canada in various different ways, starting by helping Canada’s population grow, since it has been decreasing from because the past generations are not having as many babies as the generations before them have. In order to keep the economy growing, more migration is needed into the country. Additionally, the migrant workers that come into the country and work at such low wages makes it very beneficial for Canadians as well. Canada needs a lot of these kinds of migrant workers because they are the people that take on the dirty, hard-working jobs that most Canadians will not take.
Immigration has been and will continue to happen all around the world. There are so many reasons for people who come from different countries and ethnicities to move from country to country. The reasons why these people immigrate is either they are simply forced to, due to violence and hostility or that they are in search of a better life for them, and or their family etc. Canada being rated number one in quality of life has been a goal for people wanting to immigrate. The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ( IRPA) was established by the Canadian government in the year 2002.
