Actor Timothy Spall has told how his wife helped him beat cancer. Undoubtedly, many cancer patients beat cancer due to the family support.
Family enhances support for decision making especially after the sock of diagnosis of cancer. Ioannis Kratsiotis, a psychologist with Larisa’s hospital said: “Cancer patients often feel more comfortable and secure being cared at home, so they will not be separated from family”. Kratsiotis further explained that the social and moral support from the family is of outmost importance and affects positively the recovery.

Specifically, Mixalis said: “My family had a hard time adjusting to the cancer diagnosis of my father”. Mixalis explained that his father and the whole family should talk about the changes need to be made to the family’s routines and said: “Family plays a significant role in patient’s mood in case of cancer and help the patient to feel that there are people who really care about him”.
Mixalis further explained that: “Cancer causes role changes in the family and the daily routine changes significantly due to the regularly visits to the hospital regarding the cancer treatment and there is stress and pressure on a daily basis”. Moreover, he said: “It was hard to know what to say or do and I tried to be humorous and funny when appropriate and when needed”. Mixalis added that family is the primary caregiver which provide emotional support, report problems and manage financial and insurance issues with the most appropriate way.
According to the psychologist and researcher Tasos Patelis, the emotional toll of these tasks leads to stress on the family’s health because the caregivers have less time for their own needs. Patelis further explained that: “The family have to cope with many responsibilities and try to manage many different
