Over the past few years, cancer has become a world wide disaster. Imagine a world without this horrible disease! Its even a nightmare what exactly causes cancer.
When a diagnosis is made, a patient is left confused on the way forward. Caregivers should therefore be well informed, on what the treatment entails. By doing so, they will fully support the patient to recovery.
Approach to treatment, is best done when detection is made in the early stages of the disease. This comes as a wakeup call for people to go for regular medical checkup.
Nutrition is key before, during, and after cancer treatment. After surgery the body needs the right nutrients to recover, so is during chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.

Unexpected weight loss during treatment is expected with poor nutrition. Both malnutrition and weight loss, will make it hard for the body to make healthy new cells. This will make the healing process a nightmare. Eat regularly to have the energy to fight cancer, the body needs extra calories to heal tissues and prevent weight loss.
All foods should be balanced; A well balanced meal should include carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and heathy oils. Be sure to stay hydrated always by drinking enough water.
Carbohydrates supply the body with the energy it requires during treatment. This include; whole wheat bread, brown rice, pasta, oats, and barley. Proteins repair cells, tissue, and muscle. Plant proteins include; beans, lentils, green grams, and soy. Animal protein sources are; fish, chicken, eggs, milk, and yoghurt.
