Capella Healthcare Is A Competitor For Quorum Health Care

Elements of one company can and will affect elements of other companies (Nassar, n.d.). For example, if one company is experiencing high volume in a particular time period, it is highly likely that there is a competing organization that is experiencing lower volume at that time period.

I work for Quorum Health, QHCCS,LLC, which is a corporation that owns and promotes sustainability for 35 hospitals in 16 states (QHC, n.d.). While we are not on the ground floor providing hands-on patient care we all understand the importance of each facility and the patient lives they touch every day. QHC affiliated hospitals and clinics enhance their local economy while also providing excellent patient care services. It is our duty at the corporate office

6.) Capella Healthcare is a competitor for Quorum Health. Like Quorum Health, Capella focuses on quality, service, finance, growth, and people (Capella, 2015). They are a competing company. If there are Quorum Health healthcare facilities in the same region as Capella Healthcare facilities patient and service volumes will be affected. 7.) Staples Office Supply can be affected by the decisions and actions of Quorum Health. Staples is Quorum Health’s leading office supply vendor. While there are many office supplies that are necessary in an office setting, there are also many frivolous purchases that can be cut in order to promote cost savings. There are a lot of, common purchased, items from Staples that can be eliminated when trying to cut costs, whereas vendors that distribute medical supplies may not have as many items that could be eliminated from the weekly purchases to keep the healthcare facilities functioning. During less busy seasons Staples will see a bigger drop in sales from Quorum Health than vendors that provide medical supplies. 8.) Quorum Health owns thirty-three hospitals in the United States (QHC, n.d.). The 33 QHC hospitals are affected by the decisions and actions of the Quorum Health corporate office constantly. While each facility has their own way of doing certain things and connecting with their community, Quorum Health Corporate works to analyze each of their facilities and find ways to enhance each facility. The corporate office supports their facilities and wants them to be successful. Findings from the analysis at the corporate office may result in new policies and/or changes to existing policies that can affect the facilities on a daily bases. 9.) Quorum Health Resources (QHR) is an organization that manages and provides consulting services to hospitals and not necessarily QHC hospitals (QHC, n.d).
