Do you know drinking tap water is better than bottled water? The article “ The Case Against Bottled Water” was published in 2008. Sean Petty and Justin Trudeau described why should Canadian choose tap water instead of bottled water. Compare to the other article “ Capping the Great Cup Debate”, which was published in 1991, there are similarities and difference between these two. Martin Hocking, a reputable scientist in the field of chemistry, indicated the debate about whether paper cups are truly more eco-friendly than foam cups. The obvious similarities between these two articles are supportive argumentation, controversial issues, and writing technique. First of all, the writers of two essays used the number of supporting arguments to prove their thesis. In Petty and Trudeau’s essay, they adopted amount of effective evidence from reliable institutions to strengthen their debate.
