Captain America is the Man Captain America is one of the most recognized heroes in the superhero world. While making his debut in 1941 during WWII, he immediately gained popularity due to his patriotic appearance and his ability to beat up Nazis. Captain America is what I believe to be the embodiment of the American Spirit. The American Spirit by my understanding, is a mix of selflessness, honesty, and toughness. Looking at Cap I see all of these qualities, which is why I see him as the man he is. Being that he was created during WWII, he was seen as a vision of hope. Not only for the war, but for all men, women, and children that want to believe that the world is still a good place (during the time of war). Many traits that he shares with Americans. He is a symbol of hope for the people in times of crisis for America. Cap was an idea that helped calm the troubled minds during a time where everyone was worried. People struggled because of the war. Captain America was a positive image of America and how the war was going. Cap was sent in, hitting Nazis and taking down Hydra like it was nothing. The way he acts, and the way he is makes him ideal to be the face of the American Spirit. The American Spirit is all good and represents the best of Americans. Americans indomitable spirits and Americans ability to rally behind a single cause to retaliate. Captain America shows his loyalty to America and its people especially in his movies. Cap disobeys orders, to do what is right and save his friend. He will do what he believes is right even if it means he might get in trouble for it.
