Career Goals: Becoming a successful cardiologists All throughout my lifetime, I have always known that I wanted to grow up and work in the medical field but was not for certain of what I really wanted to do. This all changed about four years ago sitting in my Health Science class learning about how the heart functions. From that point on, I realized that cardiology is the medical field for me. In order to achieve my career goal of being a highly successful cardiologist, I will have many obstacles to overcome. Obstacles that I will have to overcome consist of getting into medical school, finding a job and obtaining insurance so that I am able to continue to work in the cardiology field, and being away from my family for long hours. Getting accepted into medical school will be the biggest and most important challenge on my journey to becoming a cardiologist. This would be the biggest challenge because there will be other applicants in competition to get into school just as I am in order to become a cardiologist. Even though I am known to be one of the smarter ones at my high school, having better grades, or even a better work ethic, I am sure there will be others with these same qualities or even better, that I will be in competition with. Finding a job in this field may not be such a great challenge because here is always a need for cardiologist. On the other hand, obtaining insurance so that I am capable to continue my practice will be a challenge because of the price of the insurance that is required to practice in this field. With finding a job and obtaining the expensive insurance required to continue my practice, I am confident that I am headed in the right
