People’s fear over cardiovascular disease is increasing day by day because cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death around the world these days. Cardiovascular disease involves the problem with blood flow in the heart and blood vessels. There are many major risk factors that involve cardiovascular disease and the most inevitable factor that involves high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat and cardiovascular disease is age. Also, genetic or lifestyle factors cause plaque in people’s vessels which makes it difficult for the blood to flow. Thus, it is very important for people to take early actions and try to delay or prevent themselves from getting cardiovascular problems. One of the devices that doctors use to detect heartbeat is …show more content…

We believed that the amount of blood that flows in and out of the heart would not change significantly but the blood will circulate faster after exercise. Thus, for this experiment, the device that we used to detect the changes in our heart rate before and after exercise was electrocardiogram (ECG). This test recorded the electrical activity of the heart in different regions. Hereby, we believed that the heart rate, blood pressure will increase and the interval between each waveform will decrease as a person exercises. So we put ECG electrode on a person’s wrists and ankles to measure the heartbeat and waveforms before the exercise and after the exercise. The person was asked to do a short exercise such as jumping jacks and jogging in place for two minutes. As soon as a person finished exercising for two minutes, we measure the person’s heartbeat via ECG and compared the heartbeat and waveforms on ECG software. As we predicted before the experiment, the heartbeat almost doubled within 10 seconds after the exercise than the heart rate before the exercise. The purpose of the experiment was to see and understand the electrocardiography before and after the exercise, which can be used to detect blood pressure, and irregular heart beats of people to help prevent cardiovascular
