Career Exploration Research Paper Making the choice of being an FBI agent is not for everyone. The career path FBI agents follow is dangerous, and truly a testament to the will of an individual. Majoring in Law Enforcement would fulfill my ultimate goal. The specific field in which I would like to occupy is Criminal Investigations and Special Agents, which focus primarily on the investigation of criminal law violations. Education requirements for an FBI agent vary from a Bachelors’ degree, to a Ph. D, depending on which rank is pursued: Such as, a Management, or Chief Operator. As a matter of fact, it was President Theodore Roosevelt who sought the induction of the very first “specialized agents” on a federal level. Eventually, through Attorney General Bonaparte, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was born. And, with a matter of time, the Bureau was recognized as its own branch. Working for the government has its own set of perks, such as tax breaks, and fully paid Medicaid. Most Federal Agents are paid between seventy and ninety-thousand dollars; tax free of course. Naturally, with increasing rank comes a greater pay. Evidently, employment outlook for the year 2020 is at a low three to nine percent. There are many fields which work in close ties with the Bureau. A few of these other agencies are the Drug Enforcement Agency, Private Investigators, and the Border Patrol.
