It has been my greatest ambition and goal, since I was in high school, to attend Langston University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, in order to one day have the education and proficiency to treat patients and be the source that enables them to succeed for a patient’s success will be my success and a patient’s failure will be my failure. My desire to pursue an education in what I love is fueled by my family for none of my family members, other than my siblings and I, have had the opportunity to continue with an education. I chose my undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, wisely, when I was in high school. I not only applied to college, but also to my major in the Oklahoma State University Athletic Training program only takes 18 students after meeting the proper prerequisites, application, and interview. Nevertheless, I pursued an undergraduate degree in which I would attain both the Science knowledge as well as provide me with hands-on-experience. In April, I will sit for my Board of Certification Exam, in order to claim the title of a Certified Athletic Trainer. My major has allowed me to dedicate myself to the Oklahoma State University athletic population as well as the Stillwater High School student population. My profession is a health care profession that prevents, evaluates, treats, and manages injuries. All of these categories and courses will aid and benefit me in a Physical Therapy program. I struggled as an observer because I had the education, experience, and confidence to work alongside the physical therapy staff. However, I was able to ask more in-depth questions, seek more knowledge, and learn more from my clinical observational hours. I have diagnosed injuries and gone through a full rehabilitation program for a patient to return to play. As a physical therapy technician, I had little to no training in demonstrating and
