The number one quality a great barber needs to be successful is excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. In the barbering business it's critical to having your clients coming back and referring their friends and family members to your services. Another important quality is that you have good listening skills, so you can consult with the client on how they want their hair done, and you must feel comfortable asking questions until you truly understand what the client needs.

Many barbers wonder how to become successful in the barbering business. There are two broad areas that new barbers should focus on. 1. Focus on to keeping your customers coming back. 2. Always be persistent and do your best on every haircut. Most importantly for newbies is to remain patient and persistent and remember that no one becomes a professional overnight. It takes time and patience to get to the professional level of barbering.
It takes professionalism and the level of seriousness to make over $100,000 year in the barbering business.
