Ten years later, he had the necessary experience and knowledge under his belt to create his debut album in 1978 with the help of his record company Warner Bros. A year and an album later, Prince’s extremely creative album Prince went platinum to light the fire to his career.

Unfortunately, his next couple albums Dirty Mind and Controversy did not receive the recommended radio airplay time due to the argument of them being sexually explicit. In 1982, Prince finally achieved his international recognition with the album 1999 and more importantly his hit single “Little Red Corvette”. The newfound fame did not stop Prince from progressing, but rather push him to keep making new music and ultimately leading to the climax of his career. In 1984, the album Purple Rain exploded among fans and he soon after created a film with the same name as his electrifying album.

The rest of the 1980s and start of the 1990s did not have as much excitement for Prince, but that does not mean he wasn’t still recording and performing. With much dislike, Prince began to cave under the pressure from Warner Bros. to pump out more music, so in 1996 he split with the company. For example, the song “Purple Rain” is a combination of gospel, pop, and rock music all mixed together to create one of Prince’s signature songs. Also, he had a way with creating a silver lining with his songs and this one in particular broke apart by verses to talk about the people closest to him.
