When people comprehend quantitative values or scientific and mathematical ideas, they tend to rather try and understand them individually, whereas I am naturally inclined to connect the pieces of an abstract puzzle at once. To maximize my potential, I desire a school that will push my STEM wired mind to new heights. This university will be a wonderful learning opportunity because I will be able to work with some of the most distinguished math and science professors in the country. Moreover, I will be given the opportunity to partake in numerous research projects throughout the years. Academically, I will have the chance to expand my knowledge in math and science through taking extensive core courses and engaging in lab research. I will be able to leverage the knowledge I gain and the connections I foster to better myself and those around me. Although my major is undecided as of now, I am leaning towards Materials Science, with goals to provide for the greater good. In the department of Materials Science, not only will I be able to conduct research projects throughout the year, but I will be given the opportunity to take part in the Industrial Internship Option (IIO), which would grant me both real world experience and greater knowledge in my field of study. If I am fortunate enough to be selected for this institution, then senior year, I will have enough experience and knowledge to submit the Capstone Project, which will culminate my time at CMU by integrating my collegiate learnings and experiences, allowing me to apply them by, for example, forming a prototype that benefits my field of
