Carol Marsiglia is the Senior Vice President, of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships for the Coordinating Center. Carol is a registered nurse and began her career in pediatric ICU nursing. After years of working as a pediatric nurse, Carol transitioned into Care Coordination with The Coordinating Center. During her time at The Coordinating Center, Carol decided to complete her masters in nursing informatics. With her knowledge in informatics, Carol carved out a unique opportunity for herself at The Coordinating Center. Carol realized there was an opportunity within the organization to initiate an electronic medical documentation system. Carol was successful in implementing this system for the Coordinating Center and this eventually lead to her role as an information specialist and compliance officer. Carol now is responsible for identifying and procuring business opportunities for the organization. Carol is a remarkable leader that has imparted wisdom and created the opportunity for the organization to continue to expand their focus to better serve the community.

It is her philosophy that the leader of the team must be committed to the vision and this commitment must be modeled for the team to see. The team needs to know that the leader is there to support them and is willing to also do whatever it takes to ensure the team succeeds. In addition, it is important for the leader to understand the work that is accomplished by the team and any challenges associated with it. The leader needs a connection with the day to day activities. This allows for rapid cycle improvement for processes that are not effective. This process also shows the team that the leader is concerned about what affects them and it is not just about the company’s bottom
