She got hanged for it, but the person who actually did do something to help John Wilkes, Dr Mudd, didn’t get hanged, he got life in prison.

She lost both her mother and father in a matter of days and was stuck in the middle of the Holocaust all alone. Before her father passed away, he had been making a plan to ensure the safety of his child. He made sure that her aunt whose two children had already been killed by Nazis would be there for her and be by her side until death.

Her town of Titusville and encompassing territories in the oil river valley had been created into a prosperous industry. Then suddenly this town received a detrimental blow. That blow originated from the South Improvement Company, an enterprise established in 1871 and generally viewed as an exertion by Rockefeller and Standard Oil in Ohio to control the oil and gas ventures in that district.
Legendary San Francisco stripper Carol Doda, whose splashy act helped introduce topless entertainment to the city more than 50 years ago, died at age 78. Doda died Monday in the city from complications of kidney failure, friend Ron Minolla disclosed Wednesday. Doda first went topless in 1964 at the Condor Club — a move that changed every nightspot on busy Broadway in San Francisco. During its heyday in the early 1970s, the street in North Beach buzzed with more than two dozen clubs where carnival-like barkers beckoned passers-by to watch bare-breasted dancers. The era spanned some 20 years.

By possessing and using leadership skills, impacting others around her, and being a great team player are reasons why Johnson is successful as a nurse leader.

Do you think it is fair that the other person involved with the murders was sentenced to life in jail and will only be eligible for parole after serving 25 years? Woman Suffrage Women's right activist, Carrie Catt, in her speech, “Address to Congress on Women’s Suffrage”, explains how woman suffrage in inevitable. Catt’s purpose is to convince Congress that it is time for woman suffrage. She adopts a confident tone , uses direct quotations, and appeals to logos in order to convince Congress that it is time for woman suffrage. A confident tone is adopted by Catt throughout her entire speech to congress. Catt opens with “Woman suffrage is inevitable.”
Freedom For All! Alice Paul and Carrie Chapman Catt showed very similar objectives to a very similar cause. Both Paul and Catt wanted women’s suffrage, but both had a different point of view. Catt believed in a low-key strategy, but Paul believed in a more public protest ways. Catt showed that even a low-key strategy can prove to be more safe, and just as convincing as protesting was and probably even more.
With beliefs that hit close to home, an armada of believers in change, and a legacy for many being known as the mother of socialism, Ella Baker serves as the structure of desegregation. She ensured that all people are educated and are treated with dignity and equality. In establishing organizations the modeling of America would be far from it is now. Our nation as of now would have not recognized the basic needs that protect us from violence and abuse. The leadership, optimism and audacity she brought upon the people empowered them to make a difference.
Etta James was born Jamesetta Hawkins in Los Angeles and had a very tumultuous childhood as she was brought up by foster parents who ill-treated her. By the age of 5, she was known as a gospel prodigy, gaining fame by singing in her church choir and on the radio. At 12, she moved north to San Francisco, formed a trio and was soon working for band leader Johnny Otis. Four years later, she recorded, Roll with Me Henry, with the Otis band. James’ solo career was a slow starter, and she spent several years cutting low-selling singles for Modern and touring small clubs until 1960, when Leonard Chess signed her to a new record deal.
Katie Darling was born a slave in Texas. When she was a child she was a nurse for the six children of the house and when she grew a little bigger she was also tasked with milking the cows. She slept on a pallet on the floor in the house and she would have to in the cow pen milking the cows by five every morning. She ate peas and greens but she was not allowed to eat any of the meat.
The Progressive Era was a period of time, from 1890 to 1920, that people start believing that the society problem could be faded by providing a safe environment, good education and an efficient workplace. The people who wanted changes in the society were called Progressives. Most of them were well educated, journalist, they went to college. There were a lot of problems that people tried to fix them or improve them, most of them were fixed but other we are still trying to fix them. During this period there were a lot of issues and problems but there were some prominent ones, like: Women Suffrage, Temperance or Food and Health.
