Personal Response - A connection I can make with the text The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers, and my own life is that I too, like Mick Kelly, Dr. Copeland, Jake Blount, and Biff Brannon, need someone to talk to, someone like John Singer. Although I do not specifically need a deaf mute to understand my thoughts and feelings, I need a person who will carefully listen to me, a person I can let my feelings out to, a somebody who will fully understand how I feel. 10a. I. “The people dreamed and fought and slept as much as ever. And by habit they shortened their thoughts so that they would not wander out into the darkness beyond tomorrow.” - This quote is from Part Two, Chapter Seven, and was said in a description by the author.
