It is becoming an issue that people are ignorant on pesticide and chemical damages on the environment. In “Silent Spring,” Carson argues for public attention on the widespread use of pesticides.
The book is written in simple languages in order to reach the idea to people from all classes. However, Carson makes it persuasive by including factors such as a story that people could relate, detailed explanation of why pesticides would be considered hazarous, and numerous real tragic incidents caused by list of chemicals.
