There are several ways to investigate terrorist financing. The task can be very difficult and tedious. Many Federal agencies are the best fit to utilize the techniques. There are statutes that assist with facilitating investigations of terrorist financing. Most people believe that Law Enforcement should use their own resources to investigate terrorist financing as part of a broader counterterrorism initiative.
According to (FBI.gov), Locating and trying to figure out where the money is a big role in finding out whose involved in the criminal activity. The investigators would have to find a connection based of evidence they have gathered. Since Terrorist along with their connections must have money to run their businesses. The Federal Bureau Investigation also teamed up with the Counterterrorism Division to get the job completed. This is very helpful because it allows the FBI to utilize what they should carry out financial war om terrorism. (FBI.gov) There are several Federal agencies that are best equipped to utilize the techniques to investigate terrorist financing. The Federal Bureau investigations (FBI), works with several agencies to help with Terrorist Financing. These federal agencies include National Joint Terrorism Task force, Terrorism Financing Operations Section, National Domestics squad, Special operations division etc.(IRS.gov) They all work together to complete different task that has something to do with Terrorist Financing. Since this is a serious crime that can take time to investigate it shouldn’t just be one federal agency working alone to solve this crime. By Law enforcement and the agencies working together, would help them get all the facts they need to punish the person accused. Community Policing is the best way to solve difficult crimes. It also allows the police to become connected with citizens throughout the country just in case they know information regarding crimes like financial counterterrorism. For example, a source may know people who is committing the crime and have information they could give to the police. This could help them in different ways which is why community policing is important. Law Enforcement and federal agencies should let the people be involved so they can help them find out information regarding difficult crimes like financing
