I have been a doctor for twenty five years and all my surgeries have been successes. I started reviewing this case a few weeks ago and have put a lot of thought into this case. I believe that we should operate on Irene. This will save her life and you will have two daughters instead of one. What if both Meg and Irene die in the surgery? You won’t have either of your daughters. What If Irene’s body rejects Megs kidney? I just put your daughter into unnecessary surgery. I will be going against Megs wishes if you go through with this operation. I am going to save your daughters life with this surgery and it’s a minor surgery. Meg and Irene might have minimal complications after the surgery. This would save Meg from regret also. I am choosing to operate because it will put Meg into deeper depression if there is no operation. She will regret not helping her sister when she had the chance. You also won't have to go through the heart ache of losing a daughter. Meg and Irene might get along better, because of Irene knowing that her sister gave a kidney to save her life. I know this is going against Megs wishes but it will be saving a life and that is my job. You could go through the rest of your life knowing that you have two daughters instead of one. At the end of this Meg will be glad that she saved her sisters life. Irene will be grateful for the rest of her life if you do this surgery. This will be the last surgery that Irene will have. She won’t have to go through anymore surgeries and could live a normal life. I’ve done these kinds of surgeries thousands of times and every time has been a success and I hope to keep that the same with this
