Having established themselves as the leaders in the electronic vehicle 's market and a forerunner in innovations particularly in the motor vehicle industry, Tesla Motors need to focus on satisfying the needs of their existing customers. Having successfully combined both automotive and technology in building an electric car, the company draws its motivation from the fact that customers are not taking electric vehicles as a sacrificial mode of transport. Tesla Roadster is a battery electric vehicle and was produced between the years 2008 to 2012 and surprising it took the motor industry market by a storm. The original targets of this car model were upper-class business executives who were in search of a high-end luxury automotive. Given its price of $100,000, the car needed a large down payment clearly indicating that only financially stable individuals could purchase this cart model. This segment focuses on males looking for a luxury sports car that has an electric motor considering that the cars not only efficient but also the car is fast and drives like a true sports car. The highest percentage of the upper-class males who use this car model are whites between the ages of 35 and 60 who come from rich families or have worked hard and smart to get where they are today. Such target market comprises of 25% of the total American population who love driving around and taking road trips just to flash their expensive and fast cars. The company is in the process of producing other high performing electric vehicles that can be used b both city and non-city dwellers at a price of $ 30, 000 to make it available to young professional who makes the largest percentage of the American population. Moreover, the new car model will be unisex, comfortable for eco-friendly consumers, tech savvy as well as entry-level luxury cars. Given that youths are known to like classic objects and things to show them off to their friends as well as in their social media, the company needs to produce a car that will fully and successfully serve their needs. However, the new car model will not be based on any race or ethnic group, and the company is looking for a car model that will serve the needs of the general population as a whole.
In conclusion, it is correct to say that with the above marketing strategy, Tesla Motor Company is destined for greatness and in the near future, it will win the hearts of most customers in the motor vehicle market.
