The Rivercene Mansion, a Civil War era country home in New Franklin, Missouri, is known to be haunted by the souls of previous owners. The Kinney family, the original owners of the house in the late 1800’s, had eight members of their family die in the house. Joseph Kinney, the father of the Kinney children, was a steamboat captain along the Missouri River who work hard and saved money to built the house in 1869, he died of natural causes in 1892. Six of the eleven children died before the age of seven. The youngest son, Noble Kinney, suffered the most tragic of the deaths: he fell over the second story balcony and down the main staircase, he died instantly.
Just after 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to The Outlets at Zion parking lot, 250 N. When officers arrived, they spoke with 18-year-old John Thomas Dorosky, of Leeds. “John told me he intentionally backed into a vehicle on Red Cliffs Dr., in a travel lane,” the arresting officer wrote in the statement.
Forest Acres is a community located in Richland County of Columbia, South Carolina. It is a community that was incorporated in the year 1935 near the waters of Dent’s Pond, now known as Forest Lake, due to John Hughes Cooper and James Henry Hammond both having real estate interests in the area. After Cooper purchased Dent’s Pond (Forest Lake) and 1,700 acres of land, Hammond purchased 67 acres from Cooper on Quinine Hill; developing it into a suburban area for local businessmen who worked in the downtown area. In order for Cooper and Hammond to name this location, a petition was signed by residents; voting on whether to name the area Forest Acres or Quinine Hill. As a result, the name Forest Acres won majority votes; making it the official
On April 17 2016, 60 Minutes aired the interview of Bill Whitaker. He interviewed U.S. attorneys Preet Bharara and Jonathan Abady and the president the union that represents correction officers Norman Seabrook. Jonathan Abady argued that the correction officers who are employed at Rickets Island fail to perform their job correctly. Specifically he claimed that correction officers at Rickets Island are not helping the mentally ill inmates that they have, but harming them. As the interviewee said, “The number of facial fractures, of traumatic brain injury, of broken bones, of serious physical injury, is just out of control.”
The incidences On the 2nd day of August 1942, the body of Jose Diaz was found murdered in one of the South East Los Angeles reservoirs that was famously known as the Sleepy Lagoon Reservoir. The incident acted as a trigger to most of the media houses as they focused their attention on addressing the Mexican American boy criminal gangs, their criminal activities, mad the zoot suits that they wore. As such, in trying to get to the rot cause of the murder, the Los Angeles Police ended up questioning an approximated six hundred Chicano youths. Amongst those who were interviewed were Lorena and her brother Louis Encinas who happened to have attended a party near the Sleepy Lagoon the night when the event occurred.
These two narrators are similar, but also different in many ways in “The Bass, The River, & Sheila Mant” and the story “Lessons of Love”. In the two stories the narrators are not really noticed by the person they are crushing on. In the first story the narrator tries more to get their loves attention. While in the second story they just follow their love around. In the “The Bass, The River, & Sheila Mant”, the narrator is a boy.
I loved the part when they were looking for Ra in a home-for-the-aged-gods called Sunny Acres, which is probably the worst name given for a totally depressing godly institution. It was ironic and funny that they were searching for the sun god in a place meant for forgotten, old and wrinkled deities manned by a hippo goddess. I had to admit, I kind of lost some hope when they found him, and he was a hundred percent senile, acting like a child, probably wearing adult diapers and muttering about sick weasels. But oh well, the book was still a bit far off from the ending so I figured they would survive the crisis, plus Ra isn’t complete yet at that time so I thought maybe he’s not so bad once he regained his old strength and wits.
How do you cope with the reality of day to day life? I would like to think I handle the reality of day to day life moderately well like everyone else. However, I began to question myself once again as I read Ambrose Bierce’s “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.” This story, with its unexpected ending, had me rereading it several times to pull out key details that led me down the wrong path the first time.
The Robinsons were originally from England before moving to the states in the later seventies for personal reasons. Wyatt was born three years after their move to the state of New York. His father was a politican commentator for the United Kingdoms and then becoming one from the United States. Meanwhile, his mother was an activist and was a proud member of the United States Socialist Party. In fact, the Robinsons were proud socialists in the United Kingdoms.

Critical Perspective David Joseph Malouf, better known today for the lyrical language of novels like An Imaginary Life (1978) and Remembering Babylon (1993), started his earliest literary experiments in the form of poetry rather than prose. It was Neighbours in a Thicket: Poems (1974) that brought him into limelight and first gave him a reputation as a notable new Australian talent. The prize (Australian Literature Society Gold Medal, among others) winning Neighbours in a Thicket: Poems, which draws freely from Malouf’s past life, comprises intimate memories of his childhood spent in the suburbs and of domestic experiences, family members and the War, and travel in Europe. If the most impressive feature of his early poems is the shift between affection and recollection, in his later poems he returns to child hood experience. His Neighbours in a Thicket: Poems was followed by his first novel Johono in 1975.
During World War II between 1939-1941 before the attack at Pearl Harbor, the United States did not formally declare war against Nazi Germany. President Franklin Roosevelt supported intervening in the war, yet public opinion strongly opposed. There was a national debate between the isolationists and the internationalists. Isolationists opposed getting involved in the war because they felt that the United States should focus on its own problems and opposed the debt that would surely follow involvement. Conversely, internationalists believed that the United States had a moral duty to intervene in the war and believed that by aiding Great Britain in her time of need the United States might avoid direct involvement in the conflict.
