Personally, I must say how much I love Verizon Wireless, as my belief is that their service is the most reliable in the nation. However, Verizon Wireless is a bit more expensive than most of the other providers; their reliable service makes up for the pricing. Therefore, for over 15-years I was a loyal customer of Verizon until I was tricked into AT&T. Nevertheless, I will be returning to a loyal customer of Verizon once again and do not intend on EVER switching providers. Organizing – Organizational Culture Organizational culture consists of the set of shared, taken-for-granted implicit assumptions that a group holds in the workplace (Kinicki & Williams 226). The Publix Corporation formally states its commitment to its organizational culture in their published mission statement. One of the bullet points of the Publix mission is dedication “to the dignity, value and employment security of our associates” ("Mission Statement & Guarantee"). It is the founder’s values that drive an organization’s culture (Kinicki & Williams 227).
By enabling this strong internal culture, employees feel more empowered to speak up and prevents having employees who say okay to unethical actions just because it is being asked of them by their employers. This emphasis on a strong internal culture also aligns with my priorities. As I stated earlier, I want to be the type of leader who enables their employees to feel comfortable at all levels to speak up and voice their opinions.
