Casey and David have many humongous similarities and differences that are very evident. Casey and David are alike in many ways, such as how they both are extremely confident they will win the game/fight. It says this in verse 46 in the David and Goliath story and in lines 21 and 22 in the story Casey at the Bat. In verse 46 it says, “Today the Lord will help me defeat you. I’ll knock you down and cut off your head, and I’ll feed the bodies of the other Philistine soldiers to the birds and wild animals. Then the whole world will know that Israel has a real God.” That shows that David is confident he will win the fight against Goliath. Lines 21 and 23 of Casey at the Bat say, “There was ease in Casey’s manner as he stepped into his place; There was pride in Casey’s bearing and a smile on Casey’s face.” That shows he was confident about winning the game. …show more content…
The two stories show this by looking at verse 46 in David and Goliath, and lines 20-24 in Casey at the Bat. In David and Goliath the story says, “Today the Lord will help me defeat you.” What David said while walking up to Goliath shows that he was fearless. Also lines 20-24 say, “For Casey, mighty Casey, was advancing to the bat. There was ease in Casey’s manner as he stepped into his place; There was pride in Casey’s bearing and a smile on Casey’s face. And when, responding to the cheers, he lightly doffed his hat.” This shows that he is not fearful at all of messing up because he thinks he will be marvelous. There was one more similarity and it was that they both have a winning attitude. Verse 46 in David and Goliath and line 22 proves this.
