Two-year-old Caylee Anthony was reported missing to the police on July 15, 2008, by her grandmother Cindy Anthony. Cindy also reported to police that the car belonging to her daughter Casey Anthony(mother of Caylee) smelled “… like there’s been dead body in the damn car(Crime Museum, LLC).”Casey Anthony reported that the last time she saw her daughter was on June 16, 2008, when she dropped Caylee off with the nanny, who Casey referred to as Zanaida Fernandez-Gonzalez(Also sometimes referred to as “Zanny the Nanny”-Mooney, Mark and Hopper, Jessica 2011). Some suspicious keyword searches were made on the desktop computer in the home the Anthony’s shared with their daughter Casey and granddaughter case. One of the most notable searches was a search in March of 2008 for “chloroform”. Prosecutors would argue that the search was made by Casey Anthony who they alleged used chloroform on Caylee before suffocating her. According to a report by CNN “The searches were found in a portion of the computer's hard drive that indicated they had been deleted, Detective Sandra Osborne of the Orange County Sheriff's Office testified. However, she told jurors, deleted material remains on a computer's hard drive and can be retrieved until it is overwritten by new data. It had not been overwritten on the Anthonys' computer, she said, and "a complete Internet history" was obtained(Hayes, Ashley 2011).” The search on chloroform was not the only search investigators found to be suspicious on the Anthony family computer. Other suspicious searches made on the Anthony family included “inhalation”, “self-defense”, “meningeal artery”, “ruptured spleen”, “alcohol”, “head injury”, “how to make chloroform”, “neck breaking” and “making weapons out of household products” (Hayes, Ashley 2011).
