Character Comparison There are many similarities between characters from A Separate Peace and Dead Poets Society. One of them is between Neil and Finny. They both have lots of energy and are very friendly. Two other characters that are similar are Todd and Gene. They’re both quiet and dedicated to their academics.

1. Cass Mastern’s story, though at first seemingly unnecessary and random, shares many elements and themes with Jack’s life. The story of Jack Burden and Cass Mastern are alike in that they involve the cycle of betrayal, guilt, and the burden of responsibility. Cass Mastern commits the ultimate betrayal- he sleeps with his best friend’s wife. Duncan Trice, who was “passionately and single-mindedly devoted to his wife”, commits suicide upon finding out of the affair with a “lead slug nearly the size of a man’s thumb in his chest” (Warren 4.237-243).

Cass McBride, one of the most popular girls in school who desires homecoming queen, has been unsuspectingly captured by a boy who threatens to take revenge on her, Kyle Kirby wants revenge from Cass for causing his brother David Kirby suicide, he had suffered an insurmountable rejection when he asks Cass out for a date. Kyle plans to carry out his revenge through long periods of torture by burying Cass alive. When Cass wakes up to finds herself conscious she is overcome with fear when she feels as though she is trapped in a dark and enclosed space. She becomes highly emotional, trying to find methods of staying calm during her buried state of doom, but then time again it would soon come back to her that she would not be able to handle the situation that she is currently in. Possibilities of rescue are highly low, Detectives Ben gray and the others are unable to find any clues after interviewing any possible suspects in the past 24 hours.
A Hope in the Unseen written by Ron Suskind is a novel about an underprivileged kid named Cedric, that wants the American dream, to go to college. Cedric really wants to get into MIT, but poor Cedric keeps getting shut down by mostly everybody about him not being ¨MIT material¨. Cedric’s high school failed to provide him an excellent education by shutting down his dreams into getting the college he desires to attend, the low self esteem he has, no longer wants to attend MIT, and being scared for being known for his intelligence. Cathy Ames has been criticized because she is completely evil. It has expressed throughout the novel that Cathy is inhuman. She has no emotion, no feelings, and no good in her. Many state that she is a symbol for Satan or a witch, who is pawn of Satan. People go so far in declaring that she is one of these evil spirits because even from birth she was filled with extreme evil and darkness, lacking characteristic that make up a human.
In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Jing- mei , the daughter, is forced to become a prodigy(child actress), by her mother, and she doesn’t want to be one. In the story, Jing- meis’ mother uses allusions such as Shirley Temple to push her into becoming a prodigy. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.

They’re a family trying to overcome the difficulties and obstacles that comes with being black in America in that time. Obstacles such as lynchings,segregation,racial discrimination and overall the difficulties that comes with being black in America. With external problems within the family the characters also internal conflicts within themselves.
When an individual finds the person who makes them happy, that person they can trust and will not give up on them regardless of what happens, the individual becomes a whole new person. That is the case of Sierva Maria; most see her as a possessed, evil young girl who has gone crazy, while Delaura sees the complete opposite. If we compare Sierva Maria from the girl she is at the beginning of the novel living in her basement, to the girl she becomes in the convent, most would be afraid to approach her. They would say she is a demon, but Delaura considers her a beautiful, amazing individual. He portrays her as an “angel” who deserves to be free and happy.

Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
