Catcher in the Rye is a novel by J.D Salinger, it tells about a teen name Holden Caulfield going to in New York who is resisting going into adulthood and later on to fail school then take a journey through places going back home and he explains the way he feels about things. Today's teens would find Holden's distrust of his parents and teachers normal. The modern adolescents still exhibit the character's "I don't care" worldview. However, it is still common to see Holden's lack of connection to the adult world in modern teens.
