Class Notes: 2-3 sentences (When given) Holden Caulfield. It is told in the first person. It takes place in the 1950's. It is primarily teenage annexed(anxiety). Takes place in New York
Ch 1:
Characters:
-Holden: goes to Pencey Prep. in Agerstown, Penn. He got kicked out because he was failing four class. He was the manager of the fencing team. He is a troublesome kid.
-D.B: is Holden's older brother, who lives in Hollywood. He is a writer, and wrote the short stories The Secret Goldfish. He has a lot of money and has a jaguar.
Basic Plot: 1-2 sent: He doesn't want to talk about his life. Holden goes to Pencey Prep. in Agerstown, Penn. He got

Then Holden decides to leave. He then decides to leave Pencey Prep and go to New York.
Analysis: 3-5 sent: I think that Holden really needs to get rid of Ackley. I think that it aaas a right decision for Holden to leave and go to New York. I think that Holden will have an adventure in New York, but it will be weird.

Basic Plot: 1- 2 sent: Holden walks all the way to the train. The train is going to New York City. On the way there he meets Ernest's mother. He tells her his name is Rudolph Schmidt.
Analysis: 3-5 sent: I think that Holden will have an adventure in New York, but it will be weird. I think that he his desperate for someone and that is why he talks to the lady. I think that it was smart of him to give her a different name, so she wouldn't tell Ernest about Holden.
Class Notes: 2-3 sent: He was hitting on Ernest's mother because he was lonely. Holden is very desperate and lonely. It is easier to lie to someone rather than tell the true.

Ch 9:
Basic Plot: 1-2 sent: Holden wanted to call someone, but never did. He then takes a cab and goes to the hotel. In the cab he talks to the cab driver about the ducks and the

Class Notes: 2-3 sent: He ends up calling nobody. The cab driver didn't care about the ducks and the lagoon. Sometimes people just sit down in places and make prediction about people and really don't know anything about them.

Basic Plot: 1- 2 sent: Holden goes to the nightclub at the hotel. There is talking to three women, who are from Seattle.
Analysis: 3-5 sent: I think that it was smart a smart explanation that he gave, why he could drink. Holden is very desperate for a person in his life.
Class Notes: 2-3 sent: Holden is really desperate. They were probably laughing at him because he was checking them out. The girls are just there to look for celebrities
