There are many different types of addiction that people become dependent on and they are devoted to it. There are 2 main categories of addiction, which are substance-related addiction and behavioral or process addictions. There are 2 main types of addiction, which are physical is when a person's body is reliant on something after a while a person’s body can crave it and then there're psychological addictions which is when someone craves something so that is changing their mood and feelings. According to Wikipedia, addiction is “ a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequence”. When a person suffers from alcoholism they are classified as alcoholics. Alcoholism is a disease classified by being addicted to alcoholic beverages, It is the repeated excessive use of alcohol and it can decrease the ability to operate socially and vocally. Alcoholism is one of the most common forms of addiction. Millions of people are dependent on alcohol. Drinking alcohol affects many vital parts of your body. When the alcohol enters the body, it enters the bloodstream and that is where the effects starts. Depression is not the only mental disease that can cause from alcohol abuse another big disease that occurs is having an anxiety disorder. Social isolation is when a person who is alone is drinking and misusing alcohol. The Mayo Clinic believes that the abuser is doing it alone because he/she does not want others to know that he/she is drinking or he/she feels that people around her do not accept his/hers drinking resulting in hiding. Some emotional effects that alcohol can cause is committing suicide. Studies show that 75 times more of alcoholics were to commit suicide than non-alcoholic users.
