The narrator brought home a friend from her past of ten years. A blind man named Robert. When Robert first came into the narrators’ life he was difficult and stubborn and wouldn’t listen to what his wife wanted. She wanted a nice evening with an old friend and her husband. They had dinner and enjoyed the evening and the company more as the night went on. After the narrators’ wife went to bed Robert and the husband began to talk and watch a television show on cathedrals. Robert asked the husband to describe what a cathedral looks like because he had never seen one before, but it was difficult for the husband to continue.
